the Terbeck Fund

Every day, pets and families walk through our doors on the worst day of their lives.
We've performed life-saving amputations. We've treated burn patients and brought them back from the edge. We've cared for countless animals hit by cars, assisted local law enforcement, and given immediate care to clients with limited finances who had nowhere else to turn. In less than two years, we've helped clients with over $350,000 in care, treated more than 150 strays needing immediate help, and supported over 450 clients who needed extra help.
Emergency medicine is extremely expensive. That's why we created the Terbeck Fund, held through the Veterinary Care Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. When you donate, you help us provide first aid, triage, and support to the strays of Southern Oregon and to pets in need.
The fund honors Dr. Tom Terbeck, who owned the busy southern Oregon rural practice where I started my small animal career. Dr. Tom always went above and beyond for his employees, his community, and his animals: supporting youth in agriculture at 4-H auctions, subsidizing his team's rent and travel, and creating affordable care for all of his patients. He was the role model who showed us what generosity looks like.
Your gifts help keep our doors open to the pets who need us most. If you want to help us help animals, donate below!

Early in my career, I learned there were few options for patients in an emergency. At many clinics I worked at, when a good Samaritan came in with a stray, staff were trained to ask, "Do you take financial responsibility for this patient?"

At Rogue Valley Veterinary Emergency, we make sure clients are never punished for trying to help an animal off the street. If you are trying to help an animal, we are going to help you help that animal.

If you have found an injured animal, RVVE will provide triage, first aid, and immediate life-saving care when there is a good prognosis, meaning we believe the patient can recover and live a full life. The Terbeck Fund helps us make this possible.
